Cratchit is Scrooge's overworked employee, a timid man afraid to stand up to his boss's demanding ways. Bob Cratchit is Ebenezer Scrooge's impoverished clerk in Charles Dickens's 'A Christmas Carol.' He's a kind, mild-mannered man. Scrooge, feigning disgust, begins to scold Bob, before suddenly announcing his plans to give Cratchi t a large raise and assist his troubled family. Cratcit is submissive to his boss's every whim. Before his experience with the spirits, Scrooge is known throughout his community as cold, miserly, and mean-spirited.
